Joseph Smith and Lisa Baron obtained summary judgment in favor of the Sheriff’s Department in a federal lawsuit alleging that the County Jail and Jail officers violated the Eighth Amendment when they returned an injured inmate to the Department of Corrections, after he was attacked by another inmate and suffered a broken jaw, instead of taking him to a hospital for emergency treatment.
