Matthew Knight and Katlyn Christman obtained a defense verdict on behalf of the City of Elkhart, Indiana. The case was tried over three days in the Elkhart Circuit Court. The claims against the City arose from a tragic occurrence involving a driver who failed to negotiate a jog in the roadway and drove onto the sidewalk, striking five pedestrians, causing serious bodily injuries and death. The pedestrians brought claims against the City for negligent design and signage regarding the roadway. The jury deliberated and returned a verdict for the City of Elkhart.
